As Salaamu Alaikum! (Peace be unto you!) family & friends, we are saddened to report that Chris Banks, has returned to Allah (God). Chris spent his final hours with his two favorite girls, his loving wife & his beautiful daughter, before his unexpected transition. With hearts anchored in faith and remembrance of Allah, we plan to gather to honor the life of Chris. His homegoing services will be conducted in accordance with Islamic rites, reflecting simplicity, humility, and submission to Allah’s decree. There are no eulogies, formal speeches, or ceremonial displays. May Allah envelop Christopher in His mercy, forgive his shortcomings, and grant patience, comfort, and strength to all who mourn his passing.

🕌 Janazah (Funeral Prayer)

📍 Location: Hakim's Islamic Funeral Home, 2901 N. Rolling Rd., Windsor Mill, MD 21244
🕰️ Date/Time: Monday, December 29, 2025 at 2:00 P.M.

We warmly welcome family, friends, and community members of all backgrounds. For non-Muslim attendees, Islamic funeral services are simple and reverent. Islamic funerals last between 5 - 30 minutes, so guests are encouraged to arrive no later than 1:45 pm. The Janazah will begin promptly at 2:00 pm. All guests are encouraged to wear modest clothing including pants or long dresses, tops with sleeves and fabrics that are not clingy or form fitting. This is a traditional muslim service, so there will be no public viewing or chance to see Chris' face. The focus remains on prayer, reflection, and mercy for the deceased. Modest attire and a quiet, respectful presence are encouraged.

📍 Burial Ground: Kings Memorial, 8710 Dogwood Rd, Baltimore, MD 21244
🕰️ Time: Immediately after Janazah

The burial will follow Islamic tradition. Wear shoes that are appropriate for a burial site. We will be standing around piles of dirt. Carpooling is strongly advised. We look forward to seeing you as we offer Chris his final rites.

🤍 In Lieu of Flowers — Donations in Christopher’s Memory

Christopher was a quiet but consistent supporter of charitable causes and believed deeply in giving to help others. In keeping with his values, the family kindly requests that donations be made in his memory in lieu of flowers. Contributions should be made directly to charitable organizations and causes Christopher regularly supported and cared about. May these acts of charity continue to benefit others and serve as ongoing sadaqah (Almsgiving and voluntary charity in Islam) in his name.
